Asset Protection
High net-worth individuals, such as physicians, entertainers, real estate developers, commodity traders, investment bankers and many others rightfully are concerned about protecting their assets in the event of sudden and unanticipated financial reverses. And on the other hand, people who deal with such individuals are rightfully concerned about the possibility of recovering from those who have made efforts to protect their assets from rightful claims of creditors.
Asset protection is the “flip side” of bankruptcy.
Lakelaw has been at the forefront of this area for years. David Leibowitz has made several highly acclaimed presentations to the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education over the years, training hundreds, if not thousands, of Illinois attorneys about the impact of bankruptcy on asset protection planning. This year, he is moderating the IICLE’s conference on asset protection in Chicago and presenting at both the Chicago and Champaign sessions of this training.
